Christina Penney

Christina Penney is an accredited systemic psychotherapist working with families and couples, alongside individuals and adolescents. Christina’s specialist interest is family therapy. Christina feels privileged to accompany clients as she explores with them the relationships, connections, and patterns within their lives and how these shape their experiences and ways of relating to one another.

Christina’s approach is grounded in the belief that every person has a unique story which holds their own meaning and understanding. Christina is interested in context of people’s lives, including their family history, relationships, culture, experiences, and the meaning they make of the world around them. Through a systemic lens, Christina explores how our relationships and the systems we are part of influence our emotions, behaviours, communication, and sense of self.

Whether working with an individual, couple, or family as a whole, Christina Penney aims to create a space where people feel heard, understood, and accepted. Christina believes that genuine therapeutic connection begins with listening, being present, and meeting people with curiosity and compassion. Christina works collaboratively alongside clients to explore their experiences, recognise relational patterns, discover new perspectives, and develop ways of relating that feel more meaningful and supportive.

Nature and wellbeing are also central parts of Christina’s life and inform her appreciation of holistic approaches to health and connection. Christina is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys sea swimming, hiking, and spending time in nature. Christina practises meditation and breathwork, and values the ways these practices can support awareness, grounding, and connection with ourselves and our surroundings.

At the heart of Christina Penney’s work is a belief in the importance of relationships, the potential for change, and the benefit of creating a therapeutic space where every person feels heard, valued and understood.
